Lemony Butter Cookies Mix in a Jar recipe
.Mix the following together and pour into a pint-size jar:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Attach the following recipe on a gift tag:
Lemony Butter Cookies
Beat 1/2 cup butter in large bowl with electric mixer until creamy. Beat in 1 egg and 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice. Mix in contents of jar. Cover; refrigerate about 2 hours or until firm.
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Roll out dough, a small portion at a time, to 1/4-inch thickness on well-floured surface with floured rolling pin. (Keep remaining dough in refrigerator.) Cut with 3-inch round cookie cutter. Transfer to ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly browned on edges. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets. Remove to wire racks; cool completely. Store in airtight container.
Makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
