Almond Brickle Sugar Cookies Mix in a Jar recipe
.Layer the following in a quart-size jar:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
6 ounces almond brickle bits (wrap in plastic wrap before
adding to the jar, to keep them separate)

Almond Brickle Sugar Cookies
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
In large mixer bowl combine contents of jar (except almond brickle bits); add 1 cup softened unsalted butter, 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed (2 to 3 minutes). Stir in almond brickle bits. Shape rounded teaspoonsful of dough into 1-inch balls, place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Flatten to 1/4-inch thickness with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 8 to 11 minutes, or until edges are very lightly browned.
