Homemade Apricot Brandy recipe

Great Homemade Apricot Brandy recipe! Here are easy homemade drink recipes.
Part of the magic of the Holidays for me is the observance of various rituals and traditions. In the uncertainty of everyday life, Holidays act like an anchor between the past and the present, holding the ship of life steady and bringing some calm amidst the storm.

During holidays while I lived at home, Mum made brandy and Appetizers for the family.

4 cups granulated sugar
2 cups water
2 pounds dried apricots
2 fifths vodka

Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a small saucepan, stirring often. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until the sugar is dissolved. Cool to room temperature. Place the apricots in 1 or 2 large decorative glass jars. Add the sugar syrup and vodka, stirring to blend. Cover tightly and store in a cool, dark place for at least 1 month, turning or shaking the jar every week. Makes about 6 cups.

Before serving, strain the liquid. It may be stored at room temperature for up to 3 months. Refrigerate it for longer storage.

Makes about 6 cups.
